Before we dive in, we want to say thank you to our partners at Remedy Live Dream On Studios Star Financial. Want to say thank you to our partners at Remedy Live Dream On Studios Star Financial, brotherhood, mutual and Shepherd Family Auto Group for making the podcast possible. Well, everybody, we're excited because it is Global Leadership Summit time and I have a friend of mine with me here. This is Chris Rattay. Chris, how are you?

Speaker 2:

Doing great today. Thank you. Tell folks who you are and why we're talking today. I am the Vice President of Hospitality at Honeywell Arts and Entertainment and I've been there for a little less than a year. And I'm here today because I got the opportunity to go to Global Leadership Summit for the first time last year. It was hosted at the Honeywell Center and, of course, working there gave me a great opportunity to participate.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and so this is Honeywell Center's second year being an official host of the Global Leadership Summit, and can you just share with folks about the experience there at Honeywell?

Speaker 2:

I would love to you know. At first you're like this is two days, this is two days. And then I was like, well, and I read about it and I was like I think this is going to be really good, but you never know when it's your first time. All I can tell you is that the amount of what I call nuggets like gold nuggets that I took out of those two days was incredible. And I know that we're, you know everyone is so busy and work is just frantic, but we have to feed ourselves from a leadership perspective. And I'll tell you, I was looking back at some of my notes and it's fun to do that and I need to do it more often, by the way.

Speaker 2:

But I was looking at my notes and one of the nuggets that I remember hit me then and hit me today was it was like one of the speakers says what's it like to be on the other side of you? Right, do people endure you or do they follow you? And I can tell you, as a leader, they need to follow you. And so if you're out there and you need and I think we all need it, but if you really are feeling I need leadership strength, I need to know what it's like to be a better leader. This is something that I believe you must attend these two days. The way I look at it, these two days can catapult your career. Okay, you think your email is important. It's not. These two days are important. It will catapult your career, that's right.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So for the folks that are down in the greater Wabash area, what can they expect on August 8th and 9th, and why should they?

Speaker 2:

come. Well, they can expect that it'll be a great environment at the Huntingwell Center. And I think that what people don't maybe people don't think about, is all the connections they're going to make, besides all the content, all these golden nuggets I was telling you about. Besides all the content, all these golden nuggets I was telling you about, you meet the other leaders in the community. That's a good thing. We all need mentors, people that we can talk to about the challenges that we're having, and guess what? Everybody's got the same challenges, but it's nice to know other people are going through it. And so if you have, if you can make these connections during these two days, which you will you will have other people that you can go to call, have coffee with in your own community. It isn't like they have to go, you know, to Nashville, tennessee, right, where they're never going to see people again. You're going to be right in our community with the people that truly care about leadership, their businesses and Wabash.

Speaker 1:

I love that. So, if you're in the Wabash area, I want to yourself as a leader which has great impact, not only in your life, will have a tremendous impact in the greater Wabash area, the community that you know and love. So, chris, thank you for being here with us and we want to encourage you again to learn more about the GLS and to register for the Global Leadership Summit happening on August 8th and 9th down at the Honeywell Center in Wabash.
